Patience

12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. (Daniel 10:12-13 NKJV)

Wisdom: What can we learn about patience from Daniel? What did Daniel do while he waited? He fasted and he prayed. We see that patience is not only about the ability to wait, but it is also about what you do while you are waiting. Often in my own life I have days where my reality is not aligning with the promises that God spoke to me. God’s timing is not our timing. So, just because it is not happening right now does not mean it will not happen. Patience teaches me to keep my focus on God’s will for my life, to keep believing in His word, and to be mindful of what I am doing while I wait.  And at His appointed time the promise will be.
