"DIVINE FAVOR"
SCRIPTURE
PSALM 84:8-12 ESV
8. O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
9. Behold our shield, O God;
look on the face of your anointed!
10. For a day in your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11. For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
from those who walk uprightly.
12. O Lord of hosts,
blessed is the one who trusts in you!
WISDOM
The Hebrew word for favor is "ratson" meaning good will, with benefits flowing from these. Divine favor brings on the favor of man but there is a distinction between natural favor and supernatural favor. Natural favor can be earned from man if you work hard at it maybe, but Yahweh's supernatural favor can't, it's when He moves into a situation and make a favorable difference on your behalf. According to scripture, He will withhold no good thing from those who walk upright. Walking in his favor is trusting in him.
